Scientific services in research within the setting »Sensing Knife« within the project »Cutting« of the Cluster of Excellence Matters of Activity. The project »Cutting« focuses on the analysis of the material and virtual interface phenomena that occur during the process of cutting. It aims to redefine the cultural technique of cutting through collaborative interdisciplinary research that combines applied, design-based, experimental, and theoretical approaches.

 

PhD Candidate (Architecture, Engineering, Material Sciences, Physics) in »Material Form Function« (m/f/d): E 13 TVöD from 01.01.2020 limited until 31.12.2022 - MPG/MoA/1/19

The project »Material Form Function« seeks to fill a doctoral student position to analyze »Tessellated Materials Systems«. The doctoral project will focus in particular on form-function relationships in two biological systems, tessellated cartilage skeletons of sharks and rays and armadillo dermal armor.

 

PhD Candidate (Architecture, Engineering, Material Sciences, Physics) in »Material Form Function« (m/f/d): E 13 TVöD from 01.01.2020 limited until 31.12.2022 - MPG/MoA/2/19

The position focuses on the multi-scale characterization of fiber systems and fiber structures in nature and their geometric-constructive and design development into fiber-based constructions for spatial applications within the project »Material Form Function«.
